All tours require a two-week advanced reservation, a deposit equaling half the cost of your group tour, and 72 hours notice of cancellation. Tour dates are not guaranteed until your signed confirmation notice from the Aquarena Education Office has been received and processed. The listed group rates apply to any group of 15 people or more. This program is designed to illustrate our Educational Programs objectives to teachers and future teachers. You will see first hand what it is like to take a field trip to Aquarena Center. Just like our visiting students, you will enjoy a 30 minute glass bottom boat ride, a 30 minute tour of the aquarium and a 30 minute tour on the wetland boardwalk. Each tour member receives full teacher preparation packets and information about each of our tours.

Join the Edwards Aquifer Authority in San Marcos at Aquarena Center and the Edwards Aquifer Research and
Data Center for a day of learning about the Edwards Aquifer system.
This one day teacher workshop includes presentations, hands-on activities, guided tours and field investigations. Participants will collect samples from the San Marcos River, identify river organisms in a laboratory, learn about watershed health and aquifer ecology, enjoy a guided tour of the wetlands surrounding Aquarena Center, and tour Spring Lake--home to the second largest spring system in Texas and eight federally listed endangered or threatened species--on a glass bottom boat. All attendees will receive TEKS-aligned classroom materials and earn six hours of State Board for Education Certi cation continuing professional education (CPE) credit.
