All tours require a two-week advanced reservation, a deposit, and 72 hours notice of cancellation. Tour dates are not guaranteed until your confirmation notice from the Aquarena Education Office has been processed. The listed group rates apply to any group of 15 people or more. Prices subject to change without notice. Listed prices are for school groups, all other groups please visit our Private Group Tours Page.

Group Glass Bottom Boat Tour


Appropriate for All Ages


Price:

30 minutes

As students glide across Spring Lake in Glass Bottom Boats, they have a rare opportunity to see underwater life from a different perspective. View over 1,000 springs that bubble up 150 million gallons a day of clear water from the Edwards Aquifer to form Spring Lake, the headwaters of the San Marcos River. Declared a Critical Habitat by the Federal Government in 1980, Spring Lake is the home of five endangered species. Tour time is approximately 30 minutes. Your group may choose to self-guide through the aquarium, wetlands walk, and Texas Rivers Center before or after your boat ride at no additional charge. Fishy Fun

Life is Fun when you are a Fish!

1.5 hours

Spring Lake is home to many different types of fish! During this program your students will learn what it's like to be a fish at Aquarena!

This 90-minute program includes a glass bottom boat ride.



Frog Follies

A hoppin' good time!

Price:

March through August: Students $6, Adults $7

Length:

1.5 hours

Students will learn about frogs and their friends during this 1.5 hour program. During this program students will visit the frogs home in the wetlands, see frog friends in the aquarium and the boat ride, and have a rely race to save the frogs from pollution during "The Great Frog Race".

This 90-minute program includes a glass bottom boat ride.



Turtle Time

Uncovering the Mysteries of the Wetland Life

Spring Lake at Aquarena Center is home to thousands of turtles. The Turtle Time program helps students identify turtles. They will also learn how turtles incubate eggs in an underground nest and feel the inside of a turtle shell. Preschoolers will listen to a story about Trudy the turtle and help her lay her eggs by playing a game of "Pin the Egg to the Nest".

This 90-minute program includes a glass bottom boat ride where preschoolers will hunt for turtles.



Mucho Bugs

Getting a Closer Look at Our Six-Legged Friends

Length:

1.5 hours

The Mucho Bugs program gives students an opportunity to get a closer look at the little creatures that crawl, fly, swim, and wiggle at Aquarena. During this program, students will learn about all kinds of bugs. They will listen to a story and figure out "Which Bug am I?" They will also hunt for underwater bugs.

This 90-minute program includes a glass bottom boat ride.



Going Going Gone

An Exploration of Endangered Species

Price:

Length:

The Going Going Gone program helps our youngest visitors learn the meaning of extinction as your tour guide introduces each of the endangered species located in Spring Lake. Your students will also learn about the Five Senses when playing "How Do A Blind Salamander See?"

The program lasts 90-minutes and includes a glass bottom boat ride.
